About Our Program
The Greater Bridgeport Chapter of the AGO is pleased to invite you to attend the Region I Pipe Organ Encounter in Fairfield, Connecticut. Held on the Campus of Sacred Heart University , this exciting event is designed especially for youth ages 13-18.
Highlights For The Week:
- Daily lessons and practice time on exciting area pipe organs; wonderful faculty
- Workshops for beginning and advanced students including hymn playing, improvisation, accompanying, organ mechanics, registration and performance techniques
- Organ recitals by master musicians Chris Houlihan at the First Church Presbyterian, Stamford, and Frederick Teardo at United Congregational Church, Bridgeport
- Advanced Organ Registration session with Thomas Murray at on the Christ Church, New Haven, new Lively-Fulcher organ
- Open keyboard time and social event at United Congregational Church, Bridgeport (try 4 different organs, 2 pianos, and a harpsichord!)
- Silent Movie night with David Harris, demonstration of the Thomaston Opera House Marr & Colton Theatre Pipe Organ with Juan Cardona Jr, and chance to play this historic instrument
- Excursion to the Yale University Campus pipe organs, music library, and Center Churches of New Haven pipe organs where you will also have a chance to play

Faculty Recital at Cathedral of St. Augustine, Bridgeport, and Student Recital at the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, Sacred Heart University, Fairfield
